香港科技大学徐昆教授将于2010年4月4日至7日访问我室进行学术交流。期间徐昆教授将为我室师生作学术讲座。
徐昆博士现为香港科技大学教授,北京大学讲座教授,主要研究领域为计算流体力学。徐昆教授是气体动理学格式(GKS)的提出者,这类方法目前已在计算流体力学、空气动力学、微尺度流动与传热、非平衡流等领域取得巨大成功,并日益受到国际同行的重视。徐昆教授还在流体力学的基本理论方面有独到的见解,如最近针对非平衡流动提出了多温度的概念,发展了一套有别于Navier-Stokes方程的新型流体力学理论。

A Unified Gas-kinetic Scheme for all Knudsen Number Flows

With discretized particle velocity space, a unified gas-kinetic scheme for entire Knudsen number flows is constructed based on the BGK model. In comparison with many existing kinetic schemes for the Boltzmann equation, the current method has no difficulty to get accurate Navier-Stokes (NS) solution in the continuum flow regime, and the highly non-equilibrium solution, even for the free molecule flow. The success of the method is due to the un-splitting treatment for the particle transport and collision in the evaluation of local solution of the gas distribution function. As a result, the time step used in current method is on the order of particle collision time over local Knudsen number, where due to small Knudsen number in the continuum flow regime the time step used can be many orders larger than the particle collision time. Therefore, the unified scheme is much more efficient than all currently existing kinetic solvers, especially for the flow problems which cover all Knudsen number regimes.
